Engaging Your Community Through Prayer

Through prayer, we connect with God, align our hearts with His will, and intercede for the needs of our communities. Acts of service allow us to demonstrate Christ’s love, meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those around us. When combined, prayer and service acts bring transformation, unity, and positive change within our communities.

Our Lord has strategically placed us in this time in history and in our geographical locations to carry the message and mission of Christ. What is the context of your life? Describe your family, your work, your neighborhood, and your friends. It is beginning just here to discover the needs around you that you can pray, and where practical, meet those needs. It may be that God will open a door for you to provide timely counsel or perhaps the gift of your friendship or maybe even helping with practical needs of groceries or rides to run errands or to doctor’s appointments.

Let’s pray and seek God how we as the family of God in a city may take on larger needs together that we could never meet alone. Ask Him specifically for strategies, resources, and timing as the church in the city to visibly demonstrate the kingdom of God to our city as a witness to the world that we are one in message and mission.
